Limited-drop sneakers often resell well above retail within days. The edge comes from winning raffles, knowing which pairs actually carry resale, and timing your sell window.
02 — "The Crash Course"
- Step 01
Know what actually resells
Only ~20% of releases carry real resale. Focus on Jordan 1/4/11 collabs, Travis Scott, Dunk collabs, New Balance collabs. Check StockX/GOAT 'last sale' on similar past pairs before any drop.
- Step 02
Run a release calendar
SoleRetriever, Sole Collector and Sneaker News list every drop with raffle links. Set phone reminders for raffle openings and closings.
- Step 03
Maximize raffle entries legally
Enter SNKRS, Confirmed, Foot Locker FLX, Shoe Palace, Kith, and local boutique raffles. More legit entries = more wins. Keep payment cards funded.
- Step 04
Buy the dip, not the hype
Many pairs drop below peak 2–4 weeks after release. Buy from people panic-selling on eBay or Marketplace, then sell when supply dries up in 2–3 months.
- Step 05
Sell where fees fit the pair
StockX/GOAT for speed (~10–12% fees), eBay for pairs over $150 (lower fees + authentication), local for cash with zero fees.
- Step 06
Size matters
Men's 8–10 move fastest; small and large sizes often command premiums on hyped pairs. Track size-level prices, not just the overall average.

Keep a ledger
Log buy price, fees, shipping and sell price per pair. Cut any model you lost money on twice.
