You load and unload the customer's rental truck or POD. No truck, no big insurance bill, huge demand.

TaskRabbit, Dolly, Bellhop, Thumbtack, and local Facebook groups. Moving companies also hire freelance labor on busy weekends.

Buy the basics
Two appliance dollies, furniture sliders, 12 moving blankets, ratchet straps, shrink wrap and a tool kit. ~$300.

Price by the hour per mover
$40–$80/hr per mover with a 2-hour minimum. Charge extra for stairs, pianos and gun safes.

Build a 2-person crew
Almost every move needs two people. Split jobs with a reliable friend.
